Title: using a keyboard to notate?
Post by: dan goorevitch on 2001-11-08 05:00 AM
I have a Yamaha PSR-248. I've got it plugged into the computer but... nada. I read the help file, which reads:
1. A MIDI input device must be provided: The Record tab in the Options dialog allows a MIDI input device to be established. The pertinent field is labeled as Input Device. Once a legitimate MIDI input driver is specified and accepted, NWC is able to receive MIDI input.

What is your question?

When setup correctly, NWC can take input from a MIDI keyboard. The trick is to:

1 - make sure your cables are connected correctly

2 - use the correct MIDI drivers for your sound card

3 - select the correct driver from Tools | Options | Record

If you establish all of this correctly and it still does not work, then you may have faulty hardware somewhere (faulty sound card port, cable, or keyboard).
