Title: dynamic variance on sustained notes
Post by: Tex on 2001-09-07 04:00 AM
Is there any way in NoteWorthy to change the dynamic level of a note that is being sustained throughout several bars? It seems to only change the dynamic when you start a new note, and won't work if the notes are tied over several bars.

Dynamics affect "note velocity", which is directly associated with each note; changing this while a note is playing will not change the loudness of that note, only subsequent ones.

The best way IMO to change loudness of a held note is to use mpc's (multi-point controllers) to do a "linear sweep" of either the volume or expression controller. The "NWC Command Summary" on the NWC Scriptorium (http://nwc-scriptorium.org/) includes a tutorial on this, should you be interested.
