Title: changing pitch value of existing note(s)
Post by: Gary Smith on 2001-08-20 04:00 AM
Is there a way to highlight or otherwise "grab" a note which has already been put in place and change it from one staff position to another (ex. change an A to a C)?

Select it (highlight it) either using the mouse or by holding shift while you use the cursor (arrow) keys, then use CNTL + SHIFT to move the note up or down with the cursor keys.

Thanks - I thought I remembered being able to do it, but I couldn't remember, nor find it in the FAQs

See Scripto FAQ (http://nwc-scriptorium.org/faq.html#3.1)
If you haven't yet visited the NWC Scriptorium (http://nwc-scriptorium.org/) I strongly suggest you do so.

This isn't new info (it has been mentioned many times here), but for the benefit of new users who may have tuned int to this message thread:

"Moving" notes up or down on the staff is not necessarily the same thing as "transposing" the music to another key.
