I have been using Music Printer Plus for a long time, but they no longer make that program and it's not compatible with today's computers. But I liked that program because you could edit notes wherever you wanted them without having to make it look 'pretty' like a score should look. I could put whatever type of note I wanted, any wherever i wanted it, just move the cursor and press enter. But I was wanting to know if there is a way to score notes in NWC like that, side by side without spaces and bar lines, and measures and stuff? Just for midi playback.

The short answer is no. NWC requires that you use bar lines, and it will add space when necessary during printing.
You can limit the amount of space using the the "Increase note spacing..." option in File | Page Setup | Options.
