NoteWorthy does not currently have an option to sound notes as they as placed.

You can play just the current staff you are working on by using shift and F5 and if you set Tools options MIDI to play from current measure of from 1 measure back, it will be of benefit when entering notes.

<quote from reply to a similar question at the ng.>

You need a midi-capable keyboard or a utility such as Piano midi-in port,
which allows you to manipulate your computer keyboard as a midi input
device. Once obtained, you can utilize what you desire as follows:

Create a new document using one of the Rhythm templates of NWC. Make sure
your midi-in program is running and 'installed' into nwc in Tools > Options
> Record | Input Device. Press F4 or select Tools > Record. Switch to your
midi-in software and start playing your masterpiece.

Hope that makes sense.
