I know you are supposed to distribute NWC in the compressed form, but would it be OK if I gave an unregistered copy to a friend uncompressed on a disk so she could just pop it in and go? If so, what files MUST be included if not all of them can fit on a floppy?
Go to NWC's Download page (http://www.noteworthysoftware.com/composer/download.htm) and get nwcsetup.exe (or nwcset16.exe for Win3.x) or copy the corresponding file from the CD. That's all you need, it's a self-extracting install program that creates all the necessary files.
Then get the appropriate web service pack to bring it up to date.
You can share the evaluation download of the NWC setup program as indicated by Fred. This is the correct way to do it.
If you are asking if you can run the program straight from a disk without installing, I'm not sure if that is possible. You may wish to have a confirmation from NoteWorthy themselves, but I believe the installation involves creating an entry in the registry. If so, then running NWC from disk may not be possible.
It's possible if you have all the needed files on the disk, but what I was trying to ask is if it is OK to give it to some one that way so that s/he does not have to install it. (I would NOT include my registration number.)
I don't see why it wouldn't run from floppy, the registry entries are AFAICT only for the file association and the uninstall data. (There's also a DDE entry, which I know nothing about, but I don't think it's vital.)
However, you'd need nwcv15.ttf installed as an available font, so it hardly seems worth the trouble. Especially since disk operations to/from hard drive are so much faster.
