Is there a way to display staff names on the screen (other than the name that appears on the status line when you click on a staff)? I see a setting for printing, but it doesn't show the names on the screen and this would be handy for scores with many staffs.
Certainly. You can insert a text item containing the name of the staff near the beginning of the staff -- or anywhere else, for that matter. Keyboard shortcut "x" or "X".

You can make the text item hidden so you see it on the screen but it does not mess up your printout. When you insert the text, on the Visibility tab set the Show on printed page item to Never.
