Title: Setup Program
Post by: FranMan on 2001-04-11 04:00 AM
I want to give a copy of NWC to a friend, but my name is, of course, in the setup program frome the CD. Is there any way to get rid of it without having to download a new copy?

You can copy the shareware NWC setup program on the CD to a diskette. However, other areas of the CD contents are protected by copyright, and are only available via purchase.

Yes I know that, that is why I want to get my name out of the shareware setup program. I am not trying to do anything illegal that is why I registered in the first place.

The shareware program itself does not contain your name. The only reason it "knows" your name (such as when you do a re-install on any given computer) is because it remembers it from when you originally registered it on that computer.

No. It's just as if he had downloaded it from the net. Which, come to think of it, might be an easier option for both of you; no need to copy files onto floppy, etc. Just give him the URL, and off he goes.
