Title: layers and rests
Post by: Doug Lowe on 2001-03-29 05:00 AM
I'm working on an SATB piece in which the tenor has several measures of rests while the bass is singing. When I layer the tenor and bass, the rests from the tenor staff appear on the layered TB staff, superimposed on the bass part. Is there a way to hide these rests?

Set the Visibility tab's "Show on printed page" option to "Never" or "On Top Staff" for these rests and you are done.

Wow, I'm impressed by the features as well as by the quick response. I've been using the evaluation version for about a week now and I think I'm sold.

No only that, you can (if you wish) move the rests higher (or lower) than their usual position at center staff. That way, you can have both rests and notes show together, in case one of your voices needs a reminder to remain silent.
