I have just installed a SB live 1024. When I first installed it, I could play NWC files no problem (I started off with the Hallelujah chorus!). However, I now find I can't get any sound from NWC files.
I have reinstalled the program, everything works fine, the environmental audio, the live experience, the diagnostics. Midis play fine through audio hq and windows media player, but not noteworthy.
I have tried all combinations of devices, and set the options to "always" and "while playing".
Help!
Have you tried this:
First of all, have a check on Start/Settings/Control Panel/Multimedia/MIDI.
The "single device" should be set to A: SB Live! MIDI Synth. Then open NWC and;
Tools/Options/MIDI; "Devices used by playback" should be in the following order:
1) MIDI Mapper
2) B: SB Live! MIDI Synth
3) Creative S/W Synth
[The SB Live! MIDI Out (C400) is used for external devices so it's not to be included in this list.]
