Title: solo part on piano score
Post by: Rhiannon Schmitt on 2001-01-08 05:00 AM
Is there a way to make the solo (descant) staff above the piano accompaniment part smaller than the piano staff? I want the piano part to include the solo part only as cues and need to shrink it to save space. I would ask my dad, Fred Nachbaur, for help... but, alas, his line is busy since he's on the net! Help!

This cannot be done in NWC. All staff notation is the same size in each staff.

Although that cannot be done "in" NWC, it can be done "to" a WMF exported from NWC, if you own a drawing program capable of opening and editing a WMF like any drawn object.

Hi Rhi! Nice to see you here. "Joe" has really the only solution to this, but be forwarned: it's fiddly. Especially since you essentially want to compress only in the vertical direction so that the time still lines up. You'll end up with a lot of little short fat notes unless you go to extraordinary effort.

Think you're best off to forego the cue notes staff...
