Title: Music without bar lines
Post by: Peter Larsen on 2000-10-25 04:00 AM
I sing with a group that performs Renaissance-era sacred vocal music. It was suggested to us by an expert in the field that we should try reading the music without bar lines, so I entered a large portion of one piece into NoteWorthy without bar lines, only to discover that it would not print properly. When I try to print the file, I get the staff lines extending to the left of the left margin, with one line of notes and lyrics for each staff extending off to the right.

Can NoteWorthy be made to properly print a piece that has no bar lines?

No. You can still do what you want, though. Simply add hidden bar lines in appropriate places.

Create a hidden bar line, select and copy it,
then press Ctrl-V whenever you need it again.
