Title: NWC Songs
Post by: Hank Robertson on 2000-10-08 04:00 AM
Hi guys, I have entered a couple of hundred songs into NWC notation (note by note and sign by sign, since I don't play an instrument) (mostly country/western types) that I wouldn't mind e-mailing (or whatever) to anyone who wanted them, however, am I correct in assuming that this would violate copyright laws? Yes, no, maybe? (Don't want the men in blue to descend upon me) ;-)

Have fun and keep the music flowing.

There is a section at the NWC Scriptorium (http://nwc-scriptorium.org/) regarding copyright law that may address your concerns.

NWC Scriptorium Copyright (http://nwc-scriptorium.org/copyright.html)

You can check individual works at the Music Publisher's Association web site. This site can also help you get in touch with whoever holds the copyright to a song so that you can arrange the work with permission.
