Title: Inserting lyrics
Post by: Stephen Reynolds on 2000-09-27 04:00 AM
I open a new file, get the staff started, and then try to put a text under the staff. Whenever I try to begin with the first letter, I get the notation properties box. I think I have dealt with all the things in the box, but it still wants something and will not tell me what. No help from help; the obvious thing, a step-by-step set of instructions on how to put both the music and the words on the screen, is nowhere to be found. Why not? Why can't the help file tell me what I must do to underlay text to the notes?

Perhaps you're talking about adding lyrics. If so, try searching for "Lyrics" in the Help file.

The "Lyrics" command on the Edit menu is used to add lyrics. Until you add notes, though, the lyrics will not show up in the staff. Press the Help button in the lyric editor for more details.

The User's Guide also covers this quite extensively, including step-by-step instructions.
