Title: Odd playback delay on one particular file
Post by: Michael McIntyre on 2000-07-02 04:00 AM
I'm in the process of working up a new song. I haven't gotten very far. Just a few bars on a few staffs with local repeats to keep things looping.

There's nothing particularly unusual or demanding about this file, but it's causing something quite odd. When I play any part of the file, whether it be all the staffs, one staff, from the beginning, from the middle, etc. there is a long delay before playback begins. The delay is so long that twice now I have killed Noteworthy via ctrl-alt-delete because I assumed it had locked up.

I've tried all the usual stupid stuff as far as making sure Noteworthy is the only application running, etc. and this one particular file always does this.

Very strange. I have absolutely no explanation.

Any thoughts?

The repeat loop is your problem.
Try lowering the number of repeats.

This happens when there are too many measures to play and/or you have a fermata before where you are going to play. I hate this fermata delay, but the measures can be because your processing capability is going lazy.
