What are de differences in purposes between this 2 "forums"?
Does the NWC team participate in both ?
The obvious advantage I see in the NWC forum is that without email address and with a pseudonym I am protected from unsolicited mail as spam.
One major difference between the two is that some people can't get to the Newsgroup. For example, the computer network where I work has a firewall that prevents access to newsgroups on private servers.
That difference aside, the Forum seems more focused on specific product questions and the Newsgroup is a more free-wheeling discussion with off-topic posts, exchanges of music (you can post .NWC and other files to the Newsgroup), and a sense of camaraderie and community.
One is web based, the other is NNTP based. We keep the web forum pretty much "on topic" and periodically aggregate the content in a Windows help file.
