Title: Master Repeat Closed and Master Repeat Open
Post by: Kjell Tangerås on 2000-02-21 05:00 AM
Sometimes you need a Master Repeat Closed followed by a Master Repeat Open. When I am doing so, there is a gap between the two symbols. In another program I've been using, Notator, there is a symbol like a Master Repeat Closed put together with a Master Repeat Open. Is it possible to find something like that i NWC?

This isn't directly supported at this time. However, with the forthcoming V1.70 (presently in beta) a fairly convincing workaround can be accomplished by inserting the second set of dots as text, and making the Repeat Open barline invisible (for proper playback).

Playback is not the problem, it's visual. I need a symbol like a Master Repeat Closed and a Master Repeat Open put together, the two in one.

The visual solution was to insert the dots as text. Proper placement can be tricky. Another solution is to get the line to end with the Repeat Close, and the next line to begin with the Repeat Open. NWC 1.70 helps you do this by letting you force line breaks. Select the Repeat Close, edit it (ctrl-E), check the Force System Break box, then adjust the lines above if the last line is stretched too much.

and the final release of version 1.70 supports proper display of a repeat close followed immediately by a repeat open...
