You can't do these things directly, but you can simulate them using the Insert Text command with a musical font. The de-facto standard is the Boxmarks font on the NWC Scriptorium (http://nwc-scriptorium.org/).

If you are just doing publishing this is enough. Otherwise you then put the real music on a hidden track. There are many examples of this on the scriptorium. For example you can see my simulation of the turn symbol in bar 31 in Fur Elise at beetfur.nwc (http://nwc-scriptorium.org/ftp/classical/beetfur.nwc).

There is also a good example of trills in the MOONLITE.NWC sample that ships with the product.

Great Idea! add that font with the extra symbols into nwc Noteworthy. we've been waiting your new release for years. When are ya gonna purdy us up with it?
yes, definitely add the glissando note, you can implement it like a grace note. easy. I know you guys can do it.
please, drop us a tease for when we can expect mroe goodies.
I'd love to have NWC 2 under my tree of idolatry this christmas!!!
