First, try if you can put a file on the server, in your own space. Get an ftp program, and check if you have what you need to put files on the server: - the IP address - you username and password That should be enough to get you started. If you want a very simple page to show that it actually works, AND points to your graphics file, try this:
Excellent idea! I saw the words 'create temporary staff' and immediately caught the drift. Neat-o! So that's what I am going to do, next time I have some repeat-testing to do. I won't bother counting too much. A few educated guesses will work as well as exact math, or even better, i.e. faster. Thanks!
Well, Rich, let't be fair. Throw away the sackcloth, bin the ashes: you have used it's twice, and one of them rightly so. You really brightened the end of my week with your reaction - and I was in sore need of that. Thanks! Rob.
Rusty, Alt-Enter works in more programs. However, its (*) effects can be quite surprising. Try entering some text in Word, and then hitting Alt-Enter. Weird... but it could be useful. In Excel, it changes the behaviour of the Enter-key: it goes to a new line without leaving the cell. So there is not really a standard... but I definite like the way Noteworthy defined its usage. Rob.
(I spotted "it's" twice in this thread, in a possessive sense. I tried to offset it by using "its" twice. Without this explanation, I would have succeeded.)
Well... maybe it's a great site when it comes to learning Midi. But I tend to get seriously sidetracked by the (wildly absurd) humour. I'm sure I will get to the real Midi bits in due time.
I mailed the author the following: title = "I didn't laugh..." body = "... but I distinctly heard some floating ribs part from their moorings under the strain."
Search and Replace in Lyrics: yes, that would be very handy. As it is now, with a ctrl-c and ctrl-v here and there, I do search and replace using my favourite editor. I simply paste back the results. Workaround time again... Rob.
Et nunc et semper! Yes, good idea. I have done something like this before: simply throw in a few numbers (lyric line numbers), and 'glue' them to the first syllable of the line. When you're done, throw the numbers out again.
On my bike to work (in the snow!) this morning, I thought of a Latin joke. "Et lux perpetua luceat f " in Dutch, every sharp note has the same name as the note, with 'is' as suffix. Thus, a# = ais, b# = bis, ... , e# = eis. Since eis is enharmonically equal to f... bad, huh?
I forget what the difference is between Midi type 0 and Midi type 1. Why? Always use Midi type 1, and you can't go wrong. Erm... I believe Midi type 0 is, as we mathematicians say, surjective. It puts things together, inextricably. So I would suggest 2 things: use type 1, and maybe wait for a clearer answer.
Yes - but to prevent invisibility, do not use green on green, and such. You would get [glow=green,2,300]bits of text [/glow] that you can't see, unless you highlight them...
I have used this Humphrey Bogart line before: "Leave it there." It cost him a bundle (20.000 FRF) as owner of Rick's Café and of the roulette table, and save the dame's honour. So there's your advice (or mine to you): Stop yelling, maybe start thinking, and see a nice movie.
That was the problem, then. Version 2.0 is a lot more versatile when it comes to cutting, copying and pasting. You can copy anything, paste it into an editor, move it around, and then paste it back into Noteworthy 2.0.
The main reason I have never used 'Report to moderator', dear 111 (which can't possibly be your IQ) is that the reactions of others give me a laugh. The other is: Eric is no fool, contrary to your belief. Still, I would say that your days on this forum are numbered. I'm going to miss you, in an odd sort of way.
Ah well, don't believe a word I say. I am no prophet. As a Jewis joke went: - Jankel, when are you going to pay me back the 1000 shekels I lent to you? - But dear Jacob, how should I know? Am I a prophet?
I think I see the problem. That is, if you were trying the last fragment: It's two fragments. So, place your cursor before the !NoteWorthyComposerClip(2.0,Single) line. Now mark all lines, until you hit a blank line, and Copy. Paste this into your new Noteworthy document. Add another staff. Go back to the Forum, and now mark the Left hand fragment, and paste this onto the new staff.
If you were trying one of the other fragments, then there's a different problem... You are not trying to paste into Noteworthy 1.75, are you? What exactly *does* happen when you try to paste?
No flaming intended; it just made me smile: forget about the correct spelling of 'cresendos and diminuindos', but the 'carot' was worth the smile mentioned. It must be a caret in red.
My Karaoke Moment of Glory was when I did a 'Henk Elsink' song, called Johanna. A song where everything goes wrong (but according to plan). Those who did not know the original song really thought everything gang agley (*) , but after a while, they caught up. Timing is of the essence, here. I have never sung Sinatra, karaoke-wise. But will when requested. ;-) cheers, Rob. (*) Thank you, Burns.
Ay captain! Yes, it might be one of the most appreciated aspects of Noteworthy: the willingness of fellow users to help others. And the readyness of users to share their problems. I admit that I did not understand your question, first time round. The forum awaits your next question...
Blank area? Not necessary. Go to the filename you want to change. Press F2, change the name, press Enter. As some of us say in Holland: Enter en je bent er. (Enter and you're there.)
Off the top of my Dutch head: I believe the words 'gen', 'genie' and 'genial' share their root with genius and ingenious. And generate, of course. They all have to do with 'bringing forth'. Ah well, the subject was closed, anyway. So going a little OT will do no harm.
In the old forum, we could not edit at all. It's an improvement. Also, the time limit forces you to think before you post. And me, for that matter. Happy posting, Rob.
Goodness me, this is quite a change. I agree with llucyy that there is 'bloat' now. I will leave the playing around with gadgets to others until later.
As far as requests are concerned: yes, a forum can be further improved, but I would prefer the improvement actions to be directed at Noteworthy 2.
