General Discussion / Re: Installing NWC on new computer w/o optical drive
I heard from NWC Support and was able to download latest version using authentication code.  However, I was also advised to save a backup copy of the setup file since downloads may not be permitted in future.  I'm not sure if this applies only to me or to all.

So the question still is: will NWC be supported in future?  Peg M

General Discussion / Installing NWC on new computer w/o optical drive
I bought NWC on CD in Aug 2016.   I still have the product authentication code, but new computer has no optical drive.  Is it possible to download NWC onto new computer?

I read a thread on this same topic from 3 weeks ago.  Using the setup file method might work, but I'd try only as a last resort.  The advice implies that NWC is no longer being supported.  Is that true?

Many thanks!  Peg M

General Discussion / Re: How to upgrade to 2.75a?
Thank so much Lawrie!  I tried that last night but I don't have Internet Explorer even installed.  So when the IE window started to open, I didn't let it load.  This morning I did let it load and was able to download 2.75a2.  Again thank you!  Peg M

General Discussion / How to upgrade to 2.75a?
I recently had to reinstall NWC 2.75.  I get a message that I need to upgrade.  Message says directions are in the Help menu.  But I don't see them.  How do I upgrade?  I'll pay, if necessary!
Many thanks!

General Discussion / Re: Music scanning software?
Hi David,
I successfully scanned and read a page of music (1 line of vocal and piano accompaniment) with Sharpeye 2.68.  But Sharpeye marked every tremolo as a rhythm error.  I "fixed" the rhythm error by changing the tremolo to 2 notes of correct duration using Sharpeye editor.  But this is tedious.

In terms of efficiency, is it better just to delete the tremolos in Sharpeye and put them back in in NWC--or can you suggest a better method using Sharpeye editor?

Many thanks, Peg M

General Discussion / Music scanning software?
Hi all,
What music scanning software do people on this forum like best?  Score to be scanned is a choral piece--4 parts plus reduction.  This is for my own personal use--not to be shared with others!

If there is a recent post with recommendations for music scanning software, please direct me to it.  All the posts I can find are very old.

Many thanks in advance, Peg M

General Discussion / Re: Adjust font size of rest?
To Mike S:  Yes, I put bottom note of octave on 2nd staff and layered.  To get measure 2 to not show the full rest in 2nd staff, I copied the notes of the first staff down.  See attached picture.

To Rick G:  Many thanks.  At first I did not see symbols for musical rests in  Character Map--but after re-reading your first answer, I changed the font to Staff Symbols and found them.  Again, thank you.

General Discussion / Adjust font size of rest?
Hi all,
I'm working with rest chords.  Please see attached picture.  Notice that quarter rest is too large to fit into space between upper and lower notes of octave.  Is there any way to adjust the size of the rest--so that it doesn't cover the notes?

I was able to adjust the stem length of the eighth notes so that they fit nicely in between the upper and lower ties.

Many thanks!  Peg M
