General Discussion / Duplet
Good morning,
I have to insert the duplet in two places. How can I do? I saw that there is a plugin but I am not able to use it. I downloaded it but who knows where it went. Can you give me clear instructions on how to insert this particular function into my score?
Thank you.

Tips & Tricks / Slurs or ties direction
Good morning,
in my scores the direction of the stem of the notes is always this: first tenors "up", second tenors "down", baritones and basses equally. Here's my question.
When it comes to inserting ties or slurs, is it possible to give the "up" or "down" direction BEFORE inserting the slurs or ties and for the entire length of the score? In other words, is it possible to set the direction of slurs or ties INDEPENDENTLY of the direction of note stems?
Thanks to you.

General Discussion / staves with different time signatures
Good morning to you.
I came across a score in which at one point the tenor staff and the bass staff have different time signatures. I am attaching the score for greater clarity.
In bars 6 to 9, 15 to 18 and 24 to 27 the tenors and basses have different time signatures.
I solved it "roughly", by inserting fake notes (mute, without text and not visible) that filled the spaces created by the different time signatures. I put the code of the various parts.
I'm wondering if there's a more elegant way to approach this.
Thank you.

General Discussion / Final variant
Good morning.
I ask if it is possible to arrive at a result like in the attached image. These are the last two measures of a piece, with an ad libitum variant.
Thank you.
Happy weekend to you!

General Discussion / Oblique lines between two staves
Good morning,
in my ignorance of music theory I am not able to interpret the meaning of the oblique lines that I have highlighted in the attached image.
I see a line going from a Bb/Db chord on the top staff to an Ab on the bottom staff. In the next bar the line goes, always from top to bottom, from a Cb to an Ab.
What do these lines mean? In NWC can they only be written as text (x)?
Thank you.

General Discussion / Note of a chord
Good morning.
I ask if it is possible to intervene on the single note of a chord. I know it is possible to delete it (ctrl+backspace) but I would like to understand if I can e.g. add an accidental, create an extra space for accidental, move the note up or down. If this is not possible, is the only solution to delete the component of the chord and write it again? In this case, how can I create in the new note an extra space for the accident?
Thank you and happy Sunday to you.

General Discussion / Single staff and double staff
Sometimes, when transcribing voice/piano scores, one finds measures that have notes with stems pointing in both directions in the same staff. I'm always in slight trouble in these cases. Then I add a second line, where I transcribe the notes with the stems down, inserting rests where the meter requires it. I wonder - and I ask the musician friends of the forum - if, in order to avoid inserting too many rests, it is permissible to "break" chords (they are often bichords), inserting in the supplementary line the lower note of the chord that appears in the upper line, the one " official". I hope I made myself understood. I attach an example and my solutions.
Thanks and happy Sunday.

General Discussion / Page view
Good morning to you all.
I ask if the percentage value of the page display ("Print preview") can be changed.
You go from a minimal view to a too large one.
Maybe it doesn't depend on NWC but on PC settings?
Thanks and have a nice weekend!

General Discussion / Ties up and down in a chord
I ask if it is possible to change the direction of a tie of one of the notes of a chord. In image 1 ("misure difficili", clef of C) the low F ties are pointing down and do not interfere with the C/A chord, which belongs to another staff. I am attaching my attempt, which failed, in the nwc file, with joined staves (2. "due misure unite") and with separated staves (3. "due misure staccate").
Thanks to you.

General Discussion / alternating number of verses
Good day to you.
I ask for information. I need to number the verses of a song alternately (1. 3., 2. 4.). Using the user "Verse number", is it possible to do this? I've made a few attempts to no avail. The attached image should clearly explain what I intend to achieve. If the solution is not possible, I will use a text.
Here in upper Italy, snow and cold, Christmas time.
Thank you.

General Discussion / strange notes (for me)
Good morning,
I am addressing you gentlemen musicians, I am not and you will have noticed it  ;D.
At the end of a long transcription work I came across these notes (see attachment). Time is a Common time (C). What should be done in these cases?
Thanks and a good weekend to you.

General Discussion / internal and external slur
Good morning to you!
I wonder if it is possible to tighten the slurs inside and not above a group of two joined notes. I know that it is possible to work and fix the slur with the user slur.ms and slurCubic.ms and with the combination Alt Gr + @.
I was wondering if this is not possible automatically.
The slurs above the joining bar of the two notes often take away space and are also unsightly from a graphic point of view. I enclose two images that explain better than many words.

Here in my city (Trento, northern Italy) wonderful autumn weather, wonderful colors and almost summer temperatures.
Good Sunday.

General Discussion / Melisma
In the attached image, the final measure of the two staves has a "brevis" (8/4). I solved it with the "brevis" in text format, while for the music I inserted two "semibrevis". User melismatic is set. How can I make the last syllable fall perfectly on the "brevis", without any signs of melisma? Or, is it possible to interrupt the user melisma within the staff?
Excuse my exposition, always the fruit of the almighty but foolish Google translator.
Good Sunday to you (it's raining here in northern Italy).

General Discussion / stems horizontally split
Dry question. Is it possible to invert the stem of the note horizontally, so that it appears to the right of the head if it was previously to the left? Turn it 180 ° C? I would like to arrive at a representation like the one shown and circled in the annex but without using the agreement. The four voices - this is a key of F - are on separate staves.
Good day to you! Take care.

General Discussion / long vertical glissando
Good day to you,
here I am with my request.
It is possible to graphically obtain the glissando shown in the attachment.
If you then explain to me how to obtain it also from a targeted point of view, I will spare you another intervention  ;D .
Have a nice Sunday.

General Discussion / Start-Cancel/Forbid collapsible section
Greetings to you!
For a few days now I've been breaking my head with a complicated score. I am attaching it to you: I have highlighted the part I am trying to transcribe (I am already in the fourth edition of my work, the first three ended up in the trash ...). Therefore, the staff "falsetti tenors I and II occupies the first five bars, then disappears to reappear in the last three (18-20). From bars 6 to 17 it should not appear. I tried and tried to work on the Boundary (Start a collapsible section and Cancel / forbid collapse from this bar), nothing, the damn bars from 6 to 17 do not disappear. Where am I wrong? In one of the previous "editions" I was able to hit the target in the baritone / bass parts, also present in "united" form (bars 1-12 and 18-20) and in "detached" form (13-17), I think in a purely casual way, even if after many attempts.
In short and not to tire you, I enclose my attempted work for the falsetti tenors I and II.
Good evening and good Sunday.

General Discussion / staff of "falsetti"
Good evening to you. Here I am with my questions of a mainly graphic type. When in a score - in mine it happens not too often but it happens - a "falsetti" staff appears in the last measures,
How is it possible:
1. do not show all the previous measures (of the "falsetti" staff)
2. give the staff a smaller dimension than the others
I'm rehearsing with the piece of which I am attaching the "offending" part.
Thank you.

General Discussion / Minimum intervals with dotted notes
Good morning to you.
Sometimes in my transcriptions it happens to me that notes appear dotted on a minimum interval (eg. second) between two distinct voices. The problem arises of positioning the point correctly, considering both the appearance (the graphics) and the sound (the single voice).
Do you have any other suggestions?
Thanks, happy Sunday.

General Discussion / BarCounter numbers size
Good morning to you,
in an nwc file - and only in this one - the numbers of the BarCounter (user) are large. Wonder where you can change the size of this attribute. The same problem also occurs in the top bar.
Thank you.

General Discussion / Arrow between two staves
Hello everyone.
I should insert an oblique arrow between the stem of one note and the head of another note located on a staff below. Is there a way to carry out this intervention, perhaps with a pleasant result also from a graphic point of view? In the attached image the red arrow would be a great goal. The black arrow is a Yu Gothic UI text font, 330%, but unfortunately it is not orientable.
Thanks.
Good evening.

General Discussion / New PC
Hello, I'm going to change the PC. NWC is certainly one of the programs that I will reinstall on the new machine.
I ask:
Does NWC also work well with Windows 11?
Is the activation code always valid for a subsequent installation (obviously after uninstalling the one on the old PC)?
Do I need detailed and clear instructions?
Thank you.

General Discussion / Insertions resize
It is possible to resize the characters of the insertions of dynamics, performance styles, tempo variance etc.?
If they are entered as text, which can be easily resized, does it affect the playback?
Thank you and have a nice day (it's raining here!).

General Discussion / MPC
Dear friends, I am transcribing a male choral song that includes solo parts (bass, second tenor, baritone and first tenor in order). When the soloist sings, the other voices decrease in volume. I am trying to learn the use of the MPC but I cannot get a good result. The MPC window, opened and reopened several times, does not allow itself to be tamed. Do you have any advice? Thank you and good evening. Lorenzo

General Discussion / NWC code
I very often see snippets of nwc files published in the form of code (text).
Would you be kind enough to explain to me how to do it?
Please use plain language for my ignorance of the English language and for my ignorance and that's it.
Thank you and good day.

General Discussion / Insert text
I still ask for your invaluable help. It often happens to me that the lyrics of a song, for example when there are many lines, freezes on the "100" position and then it is not possible to insert other lines.
Perhaps the picture explains my problem better: the space inside the red border is not usable.
Thanks and happy Sunday to you. Lorenzo

It is the recitation of a "Libera me, domine".

General Discussion / double dot
I have this problem. In image 1 there is the original to be transcribed. Bar No. 2 has a double dot note in the part of the sopranos and altos. To make the notes with the double dot appear you have to "bring them together" in a chord. In doing so, however, the melodic line of the altos is interrupted. Is there a method to enter the notes correctly by making sure that the double dots show up, like in the original?
Grazie.

General Discussion / Turn the stems horizontally
Good evening everyone, I simply ask this.
Is it possible to overturn the stems of the notes horizontally? To be clearer: FROM head to left and stem to right A stem to left and head to right. Of course, by changing the direction of the stems at will.
In the attached image, the 3 E (bass clef) should be turned to the left. Since this is a vocal line, which I would like to keep isolated in its own staff, I would not like to use the chord, which would solve the problem in an excellent way. Thanks.
Lorenzo

General Discussion / From two staves to three staves
I'm transcribing a rather complicated score. At the twenty-fifth measure the two initial staves become three and, alternately, the third staff, the added one, carries the soprano or bass clef. I ask if it is possible to transcribe the score in this way. Otherwise I'll put the four separate staves. I attach some pictures. Thanks and and happy Sunday. Lorenzo

General Discussion / Final Master repeat close
Good morning to you, I ask for help with a repetition sign placed at the end of the song. Is it possible to eliminate the final  bar, showing only the repeat sign? Otherwise the solution I propose is the pure and simple repetition of the notes, as indicated in the lower staff.
Grazie.

General Discussion / Melisma
Good day. I always follow you with interest even if I chew very little English (blessed are the online translators!). I came across a passage during a transcript that I solved as you can see in the attachments. To obtain the melisma line, with the traditional slur of the toolbar, you get a rather ugly arc, as seen in Annex 1. By reversing the stem of the first octave, the result is very good (Annex 2), but, since it is a choral voice (I did not put the lower voice), the stem would collide with this voice. The first solution (annex 3) consists in keeping all the stems up, shortening the one of the first octave (second note): in my opinion, not bad. Obviously the u.t. "Melismatic" is inserted. The alternative "text" remains, with the creation of the slur through u.t., magnificent from the graphic point of view (annex 4), but with the problems of the "text" in the creation of the melisma line. Do you have other solutions? Thank you for your patience. Lorenzo

General Discussion / Traspose staff and new Key signature
I need to copy songs written in different keys and transport ("tools ---> transposed staff) in the key of C maj) to play them with harmonica in the key of C maj, but also from C maj D maj or other shades.
When I run this operation notes with sharps or flats are ALL very bumpy (D maj all C and all F) and what I do not like, and especially NOT appears the correct key signature (##).
Where am I wrong?
Thank you.

General Discussion / melisma

you wonder if it is possible to automatically insert a "melisma", a continuous line after a syllable which follows a tied note. It can be done only with the "text" (xe insertion line underline)?
Thank you very much.

General Discussion / extension lyric words
Hi friends,
I ask you how you can get a good result for the extension of the words in the lyric, if this is possible. I tried to add the underscore (underline) in the text entry box (X), but its position is always either too high or too low, or off-center. There is no automatic way to do this?
I am attaching a small example
Thank you.
