I'm having trouble with my staff clefs. There is a setting in 'Staff Properties" called 'Transitioning' and I don't know what it does. I toyed with it and it actually acted like an octaving command but I think it's different than that now. Although I do need to know how to change octaves up or down. But my treble clef on my soprano staff plays the same notes as the bass clef on my tenor staff. Can you help?
Can special endings be visually extended all the way to the Master Repeat Close in order to have a closed ending that closes at the last measure instead of just at the measure where the ending began?
I'm having trouble doing what I want which is to bend a whole note from low to high with a full measure (or half) duration. When I use pitch bend it bends the notes before the one I want to bend and they go way out of tune. What is the best way to do this?
This is great! Thx Flurmy. I didn't know what tenuto meant until just now. I also didn't know the dynamic variables actually did anything. I thought they were just text for the printed score.
Again, thank you for taking the time to listen and comment.
I'm kind of proud of this, so I wanted to share it with all you folks who've been so very helpful to me. I'm still getting familiar with percussion so it's quite rudimentary and unfinished. Look at the depraved monster you've created! ha-ha. All comments welcome.
I've got 2 eighth notes with down stems beneath 2 eighth notes with up stems (chorded) but I can't get the beam command to beam both the top and bottom. Any help?
I've just completed an arrangement of the Gounoud version of AVE MARIA. As a relative novice I'm kind of proud of myself over this. But my question is, on the last measure of the score I'd like to have all the staffs fade out. I know the symbol (with the less than or greater than pointers) but I don't know what they are called and I've been unable to find it in v1.75c. Any help?
Oh, and is there a way to share the file with you? I'd love to get hints and feedback from some of you more accomplished songsmiths on here.
I'd like to copy my composition to a CD to be used as an accompaniment to live vocals. I noticed there is a record button on the menu but I haven't been able to figure it out. How does this work?
I want to place text above the staff to indicate guitar chords but I'm having trouble getting the text to line up where I want it over the notes or chords. Any help?
I know this must sound crazy but I don't know the correct nomenclature. I want to use a note drawn with an x instead of the typical oblong dot at the top or bottom of the stems. I want to use it just to force the lyrics to show up under them.
The other thing I don't know what it's called either but it's a squiggly, vertical line that appears left of a chord telling the pianist to roll into the chord rather than hit it all at once.
I'm trying to save a song as a midi file onto a CD but I keep getting a message that it can't be written because certain elements are incomplete. (approximate message) What am I doing wrong? And can I save a song as an mp3 or some other format instead?
I am trying to score a piano part and I am trying to do the correct notation to have a rolled chord. I'm referring to a vertical, squigly line that precedes the chord on the score that indicates you roll into the chord from bottom to top innstead of hitting it all at once. But I don't know what it is called? grissando maybe? [shrug] Does NWC have a provision for this notation and where can I find it? Thank you!
Is there a way to control the widths of individual measures? I want to place text in a measure other than the lyric and have it be large enough to read it but it often bleeds into the next measure. If I could force the measure to be wide enough for the text that would be great.
Since my help files aren't working for some reason I'll try here. (I really hate VISTA) I lost two days worth of scoring yesterday because I'm apparently missing the method of saving my files properly. How do I stop this from happening again please? Thanks...
It's been quite a while since I used my NWC software. I'm having difficulty getting my lyrics to align with their corresponding notes. The lyric begins on measure 1 instead of on measure 6 after my instrumental intro. What might I have done wrong? Thank you.
