The anchor is only a marker to hold where the text is. If you delete the anchor, you delete the text it marks.
To change the anchor size (or indeed its display), go to Tools / Options / Editor and play around with "My Expression anchor size" and "Object Anchor size".
Placing a tick in the "My Expression anchor size" will remove the anchor and then display an arrow against the text.
There seems to be so much in this object which needs lots of investigation, all in due time.
But of course, the real winner is when you get it to do something that you personally want to achieve and Noteworthy does not yet support.
This happened for me today when I realised that I could use beam.hmm to achieve cross bar line beaming. For those of you that have tried doing this, you will know that the page printing mechanism can easily go disastrously awry when employing tricks to achieve a beam across a bar line.
So - thank you Harald for a use that you did not specify (at least I don't think you did) when introducing your object plugin (Cross staff mentioned - not cross bar line)

The other thing you might try, if you have it configured, is to look at successive backup files. If you go to the File menu and select "Open Backup" , you will see a list of previous versions of your file. You can open these whilst still having your current saved file open. Going back through the backup copies may help you to see where the problem happened and what to do about it. Just do not re-save the backup file as your actual file unless you are totally sure you want to overwrite. I would suggest you never overwrite but rather re-name.
Backup files are configured in Tools / Options / Folders. If you have not got an entry against "Backup Files", I would suggest that you now change that for future use and safety.

If you have created a chord, of say 4 notes and after you have created it, you realise that the third note in the chord should have had an accidental (for example), you don't need to delete and re-create the chord, or delete the note out of the chord and re-enter it.
Instead, if you hover the cursor over the note in the chord that you wish to change and then right click it, you then get a small menu. This menu has options for : Tie Color Courtesy Accidental Accidentals (with an arrow for further options) Noteheads (with an arrow for further options)
So, now, if you hover over the accidentals entry, a further menu ill be offered which contains all the accidentals. You can now select the one you need and the noe in the chord will now have the accidental of your choice.
From the menu I outlined above, you will realise that you can also add / remove ties, change a note color, add/remove courtesy accidentals and change the notehead type.
Much easier than deleting and re-creating the chord.
Congratulations - this is excellent. I've certainly learned one thing I didn't know - the access via keyboard to a 64th.
Three comments.
There are occasions that Shift and a "letter" will enable you to do something that the letter on its own will not allow you to do. For example:
K will bring up the key signatures, but shift and K will allow you to generate a non standard key. Personally, I would neve use this - but I believe that some Eastern music compositions do need this. - and for example, D allows dynamics while shift and D allows dynamics to be modified before adding.
I do not think you have covered right clicking on a note in a chord in order to change, for example, an accidental on one note in the chord, or to add a tie to that note. (I appreciate that you have not mentioned mouse clicking - but I think this one is quite important)
I think that the dot explanation should say cycle between one, two or zero dots. Otherwise it looks like it's just for adding one or two dots, rather than clearing them as well.
A special ending is terminated by the master repeat end mark. So the special ending will reach from where you mark it to the master repeat end or if there is no master repeat end, to the end of the music (or DS instruction etc).
If you want the bars included within the particular special ending to be marked with a line, you can add a continuation by clicking on the "continue prior ending" button within the special ending menu,

Tried and tested. This works really well and saves so much effort when trying to configure cross staff notes. I wish it had been available before I transposed Schubert's Schwanengesang - Abschied. A substantial amount of effort in terms of individual muting of cross staff notes taking up more time than I care to remember, would have been reduced to a few seconds running your new user tool.
I suspect that before I have finished with transposing the Schubert Lieder, I will have great need for this again.
This is not of much help - but just to report that two fingered scrolling works on my laptop and I'm using the latest Noteworthy version (2.75.a.2) with windows 10 (build 17134)

Actually Lawrie, it's trying to do what you told it to do in a way.
You have the rate option set to 1. This is equivalent of a whole note length of Acciaccatura. If you change it to 64 or 128, I think you'll find all is OK.

If you can find one of your discs that came with Noteworthy, you may find the registration details as well. I'm not sure if it was written on the CD but if not, it would have been on the letter that came with it.

I would advise a little practice before using it for real. What you do is to copy the staff to and empty staff, the run the tool, setting up the parameters. So . to split a staff into Soprano and Alto for example, copy the staff. On the top staff, run the tool and select prompt 1 as "Remove", prompt 2 as "Bottom", remove prompt 3 so that it allows single notes.
Having done that, repeat the procedure on the second staff and change the parameters as appropriate.
Parts is included in the user tool download use kit :

he found situations when the object should be playing more notes (i.e. faster). In his test scores, it seemed to be needed whenever the notes were dotted.
ie. you require a tremolo that plays triplets for the duration of the tremolo span - but it's not always when you encounter a dot ! I don't think triplet playback should be switched on automatically by a user tool just because a dotted note is encountered. (The user tool wasn't available when we were testing. If it had been, I wouldn't have suggested that this was an automatic switch on).
Make two rest chords (quarter notes with eighth note rests). Mute the two rest chords. You can also select to hide the rest if you like (Select the rest chord, hold down ALT and press enter - then select the rest chord tab - there is an option there to show the rest. Untick it to hide the rest. Now use Mike Shawaluk's Tremolo object. Insert it inbetween the two rest chords. When setting up the user object , you can select 1,2,3 or 4 beams, as well as selecting triplet playback if you need that. Don't forget to select "Play Notes". Even though you muted the rest chords, the Tremolo will play as a tremolo if you select this.
