Thank you, Virtuoso! I don't know why it didn't work my way but does yours, but I'll study on it.  I poured over the nwcttxt version looking for clues but have found nothing.

General Discussion / Playback quits before 1st ending
I've searched the forums for solutions to problems with repeats but haven't encountered mine.  The song has two verses, a chorus, a bridge and an ending.  Playback needs to be V1, Chorus, V2, Chorus, Chorus, Bridge, Bridge, ending.  Using master repeat open/close, Segno and D.S. everything works until the bridge.  The bridge uses master repeat open and close with first and second ending to get to the ... ending.  Playback simply halts at the end of the measure before the first ending.

I worked around the problem by changing to using local repeat in the coda, but would love to know why the original version did not work. (I spent a couple of hours on it at least.)

The attached code, "Forgiven, with master repeat", is the melody line of the broken version.  Any enlightenment will be wonderful. (Place your cursor in Measure 29 and hit play, you'll see what I mean.)
