Version 1.75 Discussion / zoom window now different? (NWC version: 1.75b + Web Update 2)
Why is the "Zoom Specification" window different now? In the original NWC 1.75b, it is possible to type a number there, but now it's not? And now the zoom changes every time I change the "Staff Size". And the "zoom in" and "zoom out" buttons now behave differently when I load an NWC score saved in a older version; that is, that they immediately change the zoom to the nearest "zoom size number", such as "9", from the older-nwc-version score. I really prefer the old one. Can the old behavior be made possible in the final NWC2 release?

General Discussion / Re: Bizare behaviour
Yes, and the "louder than usual" effect will occur in my layered example as well.  (Note, the playback can't be right, as I have no idea what the key signature should be -- clearly lots of #s, given tha there is an accidental on a "B"!)  The solution (which only works in the layered case) would be to mute the sixteenth note which is overlain by the quarter note -- thats demi-quavers and crotchets for those across the pond from New York.
What I meant is that without layering, it is impossible to mute the overlaid notes.

Re Use111's last post:

Ah Ha! I didn't notice the notes which (effectively) overlap the bar-lines.  The only way I can see to do that would be with layering and invisable (or missing?) bar lines, like so.
I did one in "NWC 1.75" without layering. However, doing it that way affects the MIDI playback of the notes. That means that the two notes on the same beat will be played at the same time, making those notes louder than the other ones.

First, to the immediatly preceeding post, isn't the Chopin just a case of "implied triplets"?  (Or, in this case, sextuplets.)  Or is that what you mean by "Crossed time"?
Maybe I should have said "overlapping notes".

look again at this:

Note the marked areas.

Well, I can't check out the file in question (because it's a v2...), but here's something else bizarre for you to check out.
How did you enter the long stems?

General Discussion / Re: Now I'm NOT EVEN allowed to post ANYTHING on the NWC2 forums!
Eric REALLY SHOULD make at least the profile options available to ANY regular "member", and have no message-editing timeout! He should make the attachments on any of the NWC forums accessible even to guests, not to mention "members"! And he should also make the "[NWC2]" forums viewable for guests! Guess what he did? He changed the priveiliges JUST YESTERDAY! Before today, I could even download the attachments on the "[NWC2]" forums, start new threads, or post replies on those forums!

I'll tell you what: on another forum that also uses "SMF 1.1 RC2", that is, the same one that this forum (the "My Noteworthy Software Community") uses. On that forum, all the profile options are available to any normal member, and there is NO time limit for edits at all! I can edit any post that I posted, and I can still edit it no matter how long it has been after I posted it. I even edited a message that I posted LAST YEAR, and I even still can change the title and no "Last Edit:" text appears! On this forum, even when I'm still allowed to edit, if after a few minutes after I posted the message, I edit the message, the "Last Edit:" text appears...

Regular members do not have access to most of the profile options. If you upgrade your account to NWC2 Tester, then you have access to the full compliment of profile options.
Yeah, Eric, why can't we? Why don't you make ALL of the profile option accessible to ANY regular "Member"? On most other forums, MOST, if not ALL, of the profile options are accessible to ANY regular "Member"! And besides that, it is VERY LIKELY that the default settings of SMF allow any regular "Member" to access ALL of the profiles options and have no time limit for message-editing!
ERIC!, not only did you not do that! And what have you done now!? You don't even allow ANYONE to post a reply, start a new thread, or download attachments on ANY of the "[NWC2]" forums now! HOW MEAN ARE YOU, ERIC?!

General Discussion / Re: profile options?
Sorry I was joking with you like that..I just wanted to let you know that if you buy the CD, you can get those options. BTW, was does that mean, is it German, Polish, Dutch, Italian, Pakistanian, Japanese?????
It means "'Buy one'? No, it's 'give one', because Eric is the author of NWC. And why is it you that answered me, Josh? Why not Eric?". And it's actually Old English, but because I wasn't exactly following the grammar of Old English, there should be many mistakes, in either the grammar or the words used.

General Discussion / Re: profile options?
Oh, and I forgot, If you aren't a registered user, then there is nothing I can do for you. Maybe Eric can buy you a FREE copy of the NWC CD, if you stop acting like you did in the previous forum topics, and beg him into giving you one. If not, too bad.
[glow=red,2,300]No NWC CD = No Special Profile Options![/glow]
It's simple as that.
Bycgan an? No, hit is to giefan an, for þæt Eric is þe þes NWC ordfruma. And hit hwy is þe þæt andwyrdedest me, Josh? Hwy naht Eric?

General Discussion / Re: Eric??
[move]I disagree!!!! I think he is nice becuase when I need help with something in NWC, he helps me with it. And, yes, he is the masterman with NWC, he controls it all. And I think that is cool!

General Discussion / What the!? -- there's a message-editing timeout???
Why is there a message-editing timeout!??? When I went back to a message I posted JUST YESTERDAY, the "Modify message" link was GONE!! ""Why can't I edit messages posted on, like, the day before!??? Sometimes I might even want to edit messages I posted a year before! If you don't remove the message-editing timeout, I might have to post the "please delete this thread/post/message" to all the threads I posted on, although you never actually deleted it as I told you to anyway...

General Discussion / Re: bug: cursor position resets when undo/redoing "Audit Bar Lines"

The jumps happen on the undo and redo operations only, with respect to the Automatic Beam, Transpose Staff, Force Accidentals, Audit Accidentals, Audit Enharmonic Spelling, Audit Note Stems operations. This is probably an intended safety feature. They don't happen when the initial operations are activated.
Actually, the jump happens right after you use the following commands, but the screen won't refresh until you use undo or redo.
I meant "...the jump happens right after you use the following commands, but the scrollbar position won't change until you use 'undo' or 'redo', or press a directional key. And at this time, if you use "Goto Measure", you'll notice that it already displays "measure 1" in that window.".
