General Discussion / distance between staffs
When I want to print a music sheet, the distance between the staffs on the second page (and may be the next pages also) have a larger distance between the notes.
I think it's a simple setting to set the distance on all pages the same.
The option to justify printed systems vertically is disabled.

General Discussion / lyrics of verses in a block after the score /
Two questions about lyrics:
I want to create a song with lyrics of verse 1 under the notes. The other lyrics (verse 2 and more) after the score.
How do I achieve this?

When a word consist of more than one syllable AND this word is placed over two staves, the first part has a dash. The second part (at the next stave starts with a dash. I want to omit this second dash.
Regular the second dash is no problem, but when using Versenumbers.ms, the second dash is printed before the verse number, which is not beautiful.

It seems an export to MIDI type 0 or type 1 does not help.

General Discussion / instrument setting
I am creating a new music file.
When selecting a new instrument, it seems selected well, but the sound I hear when entering notes or listening to the song is another sound.
The problem occured at Staff-9. I want to hear Voice-Oohs, but I hear a percussion instrument (I think).
What did I set wrong in the program?

General Discussion / reinstalling NWC
In the past I bought NWC 2.0 and I got a CD ROM. In the years later I had to install NWC many times (due to crashes of my computer, a new hard disks, reinstalling Windows, etc.). In the first years I used the CD ROM, but the CD ROM now is damaged and can not be used anymore.
When I reinstalled the software, I installed 2.0, updated it to the next release and repeated the update process until I have the most recent version.

At this moment I do not have an option to install NWC from scratch. How can I become a new installer (2.0 or may be 2.75)?

Any help is very appreciated.

I am looking for a way to create a measure notation, for which I do not know the right name. So I'll try to describe it.
After de clef and the key signature I see one digit (superscripted) and one music note (subscripted; stem down).
What is the name of such a measure notation and how do I have to create it?

On internet I found a way to save/read from MusicXML files. Also in the Noteworthy Composer forum is written about this topic. But I can not find what the current state is.
I appreciate if there is an option into the NWC.
Who can tell me more?

My Noteworthy CD ROM was damaged last year. Before the damage I had copied the files to Dropbox.
Today I tried to reinstall Noteworthy using the files on Dropbox, but the setup fails.
What can I do to restore the setup application file?

I bought NWC many years ago, it was version 1.75, Now I have 2.75a.2

When I want to reinstall NWC onto a new PC, what is the best way? Installing the old 1.75, and upgrade and upgrade and upgrade till I get the current edition? Or is there an easier way?

General Discussion / calculating font size
I am trying to find out what the best font size for my Powerpoint presentations with music created with NWC.
Therefore I take a song, print it to GIF and insert it into a Powerpoint, changed the font size (more generally: I changed the staff metrics) and repeat that operation). I used the staff metrics 26, 25.5, 25, 24.5 and 24.
I do not see the difference between the several printed GIF files. Even when I compare the GIF's, they are the same.
What did I wrong?

General Discussion / tie in syllables
I want to create a tie in the lyrics of my song.
People should sing two syllables onto one music note, so I think to tie both syllables as lyrics for one note.
Is that possible? How to do that?

General Discussion / layout song
Regular I create music files with one staff, four lines on a page (which I print onto a GIF to paste it into Powerpoint). The page is 21 x 14,85 cm and stretched in Powerpoint (see attached example and Powerpoint file in NWC forum 20181221.zip)

Today I am creating a song with two staves, two systems (of each 2 staves) on a page and repeating pages. On some pages staves are hidden
I would like to get the same layout (distance between the staves/systems) as I have in above example. What did I wrong?

Tips & Tricks / calculating boundary offset
I want to calculate the needed boundary offset for my music.
In my song I am using the boundary offset to create more space between two music lines. On the verses 1, 3 and 4 (pages 2, 6 and 8) there are 2 music lines, followed by a refrain which has the word "Refrain" above it.  To avoid the word "Refrain" is printed over the lyrics, I give it a upper boundary offset of 16.
On verse 2 (page 4) the lyrics are a little bit smaller, so there is 1 music line before the refrain.
I want to print the refrain at the same offset, so I have to calculate the right offset,
How can I do that?

I am trying to create a song with multi-notes (I think that's the right word for my situation).
The song has a phrase which consists of 25 syllables which have to sing on 7 music notes. So the notes have to align at the left side of each group of notes.
How do I do that?

General Discussion / questions about the layout
I completed the song mentioned in https://forum.noteworthycomposer.com/?topic=9774.0 and now have some other questions.
The music should be an A5 output landscape (21 cm x 14,85 cm).
In measure 35 and 36 is the repeating text "je leven aan" printed on one line. The first same text is broken over two lines. I am not able to repair that. Same case in measure 52 and 53.
In measure 50 and 51 the words "meer te" should be to have a triple, but because of the line break it looks like impossible. Do you know a solution?

The third staff only I created for checking if all measures have the correct length. I am not able to correct the right length (in staff 1 and 2) in measure 51.

I hope you can help me.

General Discussion / staff missing on printout
A few weeks ago I created a song in NWC which has a second staff at some places. Using the help in this forum the song was perfect!
Now I try to create another song which also has a second staff. For reference I many times switched to the first song, but I can't find why in my new song the second staff is not on the print out.
What is going wrong in this file?

I am trying to create a song (also for projection on our church wall). Therefore I am printing my graphics onto a A5 sized JPG which I import to a Powerpoint presentation.
I want the second staff of measure 13 make invisible

I have a lot of NWC files and I want to make them using the same template.
The right template has a description which I can see when I hit Ctrl-I (copyright Notice 2).

Now I want to have a list of all NWC files and which template is used. How can I make this list?

General Discussion / creating "flat" files
I am the creator of music powerpoint files in our church.
Due to a small home improvement of the wall where we want to show the presentations, I want to modify the current collection to a flat format.
When the improvement is completed I can make a new template with a format for the NWC files (which font, marges, colors, etc.)
What is the best way to save my files? I prefer to simple insert my files into the new template.

In my file I didn't insert any instrument for playing.
But when listening to the music, I hear an oboe (or on other staves other instruments).
How can I delete the automatic inserted instruments?

General Discussion / notes and lyrics are not visible
Frequently I create Powerpoint-presentations to show the musicnotes in our church.
Since the latest updates the music notes and lyrics are invisibe. I only can see the staff, the bar breaks and the slurs and ties.
I am using a printerdriver which creates a GIF. In that printer driver I select to invert the output. That is the most suitable situation in our church.
Also when I print the output to a non-inverted image, the output is without texts etc.

What can I do to get the music notes and lyrics visible.

Where do I have to define the font for the staff label?
I want to print the staff label in the same font(size) as the lyrics are.

General Discussion / beaming bar at same height?
Is it possible to layer the beaming bars at the same height?
In this setting it is difficult to see if it is an 8th or a 16th note.

I do not want to stem up the entire staff, because the next step in the production of my file is to layer the first staff onto the second (and third) staff, Staff 1 is a treble voice.

Hope my question is clear enough.

General Discussion / lay-out music
In the music file in this message I try to have the same lay-out for the complete song.
I think, for a good view, please select A5 landscape (21 x 14,85 cm).

The lay-out of pages 3, 4, 7, 8, 11-14 is what I want. Why are the other pages indented and don't they have the same marge as which I want.
On the "wrong" pages the "V" or the "M" should have a negative indentation (same position as on the right pages 3, 4, etc.)

Who can tell me what I did wrong?

General Discussion / Hide graphic crescendo/diminuendo
In my music for a choir the staves of soprano and alto are combined, also the tenor and bass are combined.
When the choir must sing crescendo I want to view its sign above the soprano staff and under the bass staff. For the other staffs the sign should be hidden. How can I hide that sign?

In attached file the first two measures should be played by the piano. The next measure is for the choir. In NoteWorthy Composer the piano and the choir are separate staffs, but they should be print as one staff.
How do I have to create the music in Noteworthy Composer to create the same score as the picture? This is my attempt.

What is most general lay-out of sheet music used for singers and instrument players?
I want to know general settings for the lyric fonts, the distance between staff and lyrics (and also between the lyrics and the next staff). Also, what is ideal distance between the first set of staffs (are they called "system"?) and the next one?

Also I want to know if there is a way to create two lines for the lyricist and/or the author,

General Discussion / share NWC files for displaying onto wall, independent onto the format
I have a lot of NWC files with a single line notation, used for displaying onto a wall.
Every wall (and projector) is different, so the settings (font, size, line break, etc.) into the file are also different.
I want to share the files (.nwctxt) with other people.

Is there a way to merge the .nwctxt file with the settings of Noteworthy Composer, which are committed with their projector/wall?
If not, do you have another idea how to share the files?

People who do not have a license of NWC, can they print a song to a picture (PNG, JPG or GIF)?

Sometimes I have a song with directions ("All", "men", "women", "Refrain", etc.).
These directions should have the same font size as the lyrics (I want do display the song using a projector onto a wall).
But how do I create more space between the fourth and the fifth line? (Please tell me which function in NWC I have to use).

I want to create a song which has a note in verse #1 contains 1 syllable and in verse #2 contains 2 syllables (two notes of a half duration).
The notes should be slurred "eventually", but I do not know how to do that.

On a music sheet, I see three staffs (soprano, alto, baritone).
In the staffs I don't see measure bar lines. I only see these lines between the soprano bar and the alto bar and also between alto and baritone.
The duration of the measures (actually are that measure bars?) is not the same in the measures.
How do I create these bar lines?

General Discussion / 'strange' instruments
When I create a new song in NWC, the first 4 staves always has a piano sound, but when I add more staves, these staves sounds as 'ping' when I add notes to that stave. Even when changing the instrument to another, it is sounds unchanged. Also when saved to nwctxt, that file does not contain instrument names.

What is the best way to add staves which has the 'basic' piano sound?

General Discussion / hiding staff (another question)
In topic 9111 I asked about hiding a staff. Rick answered me and I understand that. After that the song was printed good.
After making many other changes to the song, I am not able again to hide the staff, but it seems not to be the same problem.
Who can help me?

I only want to print out the staffs called S, A, T and B. In measure 16 starts a part where all men should sing unisono and all women also should sing unisono. I want to print from measure 16 (till 30) only two staffs (A (alto) and B (bass)), but there is an empty staff in my print.
How can I hide / collapse that staff in the right way.

The PDF has the right format, but some other bugs, which are fixed meanwhile. The NWC is the current file.

Accidentally I overwrite my NWC2.51-file with the NWC1.75. There is a .BAK-file, but I do not know if the .BAK is the original 2.51-file.
On which way can I determine if the .BAK-file (in the meantime renamed to another name and extension .NWC) is my original 2.51 file?

General Discussion / hiding staff
I am making a song where I want one staff should not be visible (tenor and bass are the same music, so it is not need to show both lines).
The way I tried to do it, is pressing the "]". When I make a print preview, there is still a line without notes and measure marks.

How do I hide the whole bar? In the enclosed song it is the third staff (labeled with "T" (tenor)), measures 15 to 30

I will make a music sheet with a variable distance between the staffs, so I can write other text between the staffs.

I have a song (5 verses).
The song has a refrain (same words) which I places at verse 1.
The distance between the staffs in the refrain is large, because there is only 1 text line. How do I decrease the the distance?
