Where can I download 1.75 to use instead of 2. I prefer it and it is simpler to use for my purposes ie.learning and singing songs. I don't have to go hunting for things I need. Also, what's with the new Forum style, Just making things hard to find..
This is now possible using free app 'Midi Sheet Music' from Play Store. Just Export NWC to .mid and move to Android device by Bluetooth Email. cable, or whatever. Open the app and browse to where it is and it will notate with lyrics and play the sound effortlessly. Haven't researched it thoroughly yet, but certainly, because of midi there are some difficulties with fancy flow instructions etc. Would be good if others can have a go and let everyone know of limitations. Certainly for plain vocal music learning of parts for practice it works fine.
Seems this subject hasn't been raised for a while. In the Myriad forums it is apparent that you can convert a pdf that has been made from a music editor eg. NWC which is a"vector" pdf, but you can't scan a pages and convert that because it is a "bitmap" pdf. So the question arises, is it possible to cinvert a "bitmap" pdf to a "vector" pdf?
I want to install NWC on my new Asus EEE 701 mini but OS is in a form of Linux and I'm not very good at this Command line stuff. Can anyone give me a simple blow-by-blow install? 1.75 is fine.
I have used NWC a lot over the years and although having both 1 & 2 , tend to use 1 most of the time. What are the main advantages of NWC2 and what disadvantages?
Have we progressed yet to be able to type a decent flat or sharp in text as in a title or chord, simply with Alt+ or other keyboard shortcut. I know you can do it in Word but how in NWC?
Is there any way to convert NWC2 files so they can be used in NWC1? NWC2 is such a pain, when you make a file with a particular version it won't open in an older version so when you send it by email it can't be used by others. It can be viewed by NWC2 Viewer, but not adjusted i.e pan or volume, etc. and cannot be started except at the begining. I must make sure I don't use it in future.
can anyone recommend a simple midi editor where I can cut and paste and fade in and out exerpts of carols in midi format to make a backing track? I can do it fine in wave or mp3 but the file sizes end up too big.
When bringing out an old (2001) nwc file of mine to print, probably done in 1.5 or something and printing it now again from 1.75b, I have problems with long lyric syllables with ------ to indicate sustain, not being able to cross a bar-line ino the subsequent tied notes, and thus stretching out the space to the last note of the bar.i.e the lyric word "fall-----------" going from crotchet 4 in the bar tied to a semi-breve in the next bar.My old hard copies have this, no problem, but I can't do it now.Is there a work-around or is there some box I haven't ticked?
Is there any way to notate mezzo-staccato (portato) without resorting to text? The tenuto dash and accent will notate together from the toolbar but the tenuto dash and staccato dot are mutually exclusive. Do we need to put on the wish-list to be able to have both together. Might need vertical adjustment in the programming of the dot to have them both display.
