Generally, for the first note of a special ending, when I have a chord letter above the note (set as "at next note/bar"), I will add additional horizontal spacing to the first note of the special ending so that both the note and the chord letter moves to the right out of the way of the special ending number(s).
If I use standard rules for lyrics, the lyric also moves (and stays centered) with the adjusted note. However, If I use "start of note/accidental" for my lyrics, then the lyric stays put a the far left of the measure with a horizontal gap between the lyric and the note that was slid to the right.
There are some songs that I use "standard" rules and others that I use "start of note", but having special endings in the song pretty much forces me into "standard" rules, which isn't always what I want.
I just found some great new music on the web and thought I would try to transcribe them into NWC, but I'm having a heck of a time transcribing these two pieces. Maybe someone could help out.
One of my favorite soft rock groups from the 70's was (is) Pablo Cruise. I was just checking out their web site and found that you can download three of their songs in PDF format for free.
So I thought I would just pass this along for anyone else still "stuck in the 70's".
I was reading a message on the newsgroup and launched the attached file. It launched into the NWC 2 viewer. If I click on the button to load it into NWC2, I get the following error message:
"The Windows shell reports that the file could not be opened using the "Open with NWC Version 2" verb. Is NWC 2 installed on your system correctly? Have you manually altered the file associations?"
And then I get only an OK button to click (kind of weird response, since it's asking me two questions).
Anyway, if I click on the NWC1 button, it launches fine into NWC2 (it was an NWC2 file). I have both NWC 1.75b and NWC Beta 2.06 installed on the computer.
However, I tested this with both an NWC 1 and NWC 2 file. It only loads into NWC 2. I'm sure there's a problem with my setup, but it's weird that it always goes to version 2, but only when I click on the version 1 button.
I'm just curious. When I look at the membership list, I see several position descriptions. What constitutes a "Registered User" versus a "NWC Virtuoso"? I also see "Admin" (which is pretty self-explanatory) and "NWC User" for one user (who has not posted).
Thanks,
- John (who is happy to be just a registered user, but have been registered since about NWC Version 1.20)
