I'm looking for a really good flugelhorn sound. I've been able to get close by using the trumpet and adding heavy reverb but it just isn't the same. Can anyone offer suggestions?
Just curious. I've been toying with the tremolo depth in the mpc and I was wondering if there are recommended settings that correlate to the note durations. In other words, if you set the depth at 512 for an eighth note should it be 1024 for a quarter note or 768 for an eighth tied to a sixteenth? And, can the depth be adjusted by using custom note velocities?
I'm back groveling for help... I'm having trouble doing what I want with the attached file. Specifically, the 2nd ending (which is closed) at measure 25 works just fine with the DS al Segno. But the 2nd time it gets back to that measure I want it to jump ahead to the open 3rd ending. I'm sure there is a simple answer but I'm having cranial flatulence here. Can someone help?
I've seen this flow direction before. For "NWC Playback Purposes" is there a way to cause this to occur during playback without having to string the first two verses end-to-end?
For whatever reason I'm losing my string section (the green stave) at the 2nd ending of the attached song. Can anybody explain why this is happening and how I can fix it?
Suddenly when I hit my F5 Play button it goes back all the way to begin playing at measure #1. It used to playback from whichever measure my cursor was in. Can I get it that way again?
Hello friends. I just finished something I'm sort of proud of. It's the best thing I've done so far at least. It's the full score of the iconic Led Zeppelin song Stairway to Heaven. If you like it feel free to lift it. Any comments or suggestions are also welcome.
I've noticed on string quartet scores there are little marks above some notes that I had to look up to understand their meaning. There is a Sull'arco symbol which looks like a small 'v' and indicates an up bow movement, and a Giu arco symbol which looks like an upside down non-rounded U and indicates a down bow movement. I haven't been able to find anything in NWC to duplicate this. For playback purposes it's probably unnecessary but, are there such symbols in NWC?
I've noticed that while I'm copying scores from American sheet music into NWC format I'll often get a series of four consecutive 8th notes all beamed together. But when I use the NWC automatic beam command it usually splits them up into two sets of two. Is this a standard rule everywhere or just a convenient American way to save space inside a measure by squeezing beamed notes closer together?
I'm trying to playback MIDI files converted from NWC files through my PA for upcoming live performances but whenever I hit the NWC 'play' button I get no audio and the subject error message appears. This seems to be a ommon problem with MIDI files but I haven't found a solution that works. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a solution? I'm using Windows 10.
I remember older versions of NWC had an additional program called "Noteworthy Player." I never used it but I might need it now because I need to export my nwc files to midi type 1 files in order for my vocalizer to recognize the midi chords and add live harmony when I perform. But I want the midi file to scroll across the screen just like the nwc files do. So my question is, will the midi file open and play within the nwc program just like the nwc files do?
Hi all. I just wanted to share something I happened upon while scoring. We all know that we are imperfect. Even the tightest bands can't replicate the perfection of MIDI notes. So, if desired, you an place a 1/32nd or 1/64th grace note before a standard note or chord to replicate this imperfection. It also gives the accompaniment a little "thickness." I've found this to be especially pleasant with percussion parts. Just an FYI.
Is it possible to create custom staff sets? For instance, if I want a staff set to include a "lead vocal", "backup vocal", "treble & bass clef keyboard", "guitar 1", "guitar 2", "strings", "brass", "top & bottom percussion" without having to recreate them for every song, how might I accomplish this?
Is it possible to purchase 3rd party sound fonts or even entire banks of sound fonts and be able to access them from inside NWC2? And if so, does anybody have suggestions for reasonably priced vendors of same? Also, I've lost my keyboard midi-input on the bottom of the screen and can't find how to get it back.
I wonder if one of you might help me with this file. Having no formal training I'm still trying to learn on the fly here. Specifically, flow directions and special endings are problematic for me. I am addicted to this software! I do have some suggestions for future releases, to wit; 1...More colors. Need more dark colors for accentuating different things on printed scores. 2...The ability to stack rests. 3...The ability to beam both stem-up note runs and stem-down note runs atop one another. 4...A feature to enable pentuplets. 5...Guitar chord "symbols" that change when transposing keys. (Just a few thoughts from the peanut gallery)
I must be neglecting something...after I transpose a staff I play it back and the key hasn't changed. How do I get it to playback the transposed notes?
In a score I'm transposing I've noticed several notes have individual dots either atop or below them. But NWC doesn't have a corresponding symbol that I can see. Might this be the same as a staccato or accent perhaps?
Hello. I'm trying to learn to use the pitch bend feature, mainly for scoring guitar solos. For instance, if I wanted to bend a 1/8th - A note up to a 1/2 - C note, over a duration of a 1/8th measure then add some tremolo to the final note how would I do so?

I'm not sure this is related to the NWC product so if not please forgive me. I'm trying to download new sound banks. But when I do so all I see on my screen are pages of jibberish which I assume are code. But I don't know what to do with it. Can someone enlighten me?
I'm trying to create a ride cymbal sound via drumref that duplicates a real drummer using his fuzzy (?) cymbal mallets to crescendo throughout the entire measure. I tried using 64th notes with the sustain pedal and it just sounded like a cricket orgy. Any suggestions?
I've been scoring a medley. It's very long and I'm afraid I've done something to the file. Amidst going back and forth from song to song it seems I've accumulated some phantom notes and measures. I think my problems began when I tried to do an instrument change on one of the staffs. After determining I didn't like it I tried to undo it, but it won't let me. Ugh. Please tell me I won't have to start all over. Also, are there banks of other instruments out there that can become add-ons? I've fallen in love with the flugelhorn sound lately...….
I think I new this once years ago but, is there a character map for the different percussion instruments that corresponds to the notes and placements I can get?
I'm making a midi file of The Lords Prayer written in 12/8 time. Some of the bass clef notes extend into the treble clef but when I put them into the treble clef it messes up the timing so the bar lines aren't aligned between staffs. I've tried making them grace notes but there's till the alignment problem. Is there a fix for this?
I'm having trouble with my staff clefs. There is a setting in 'Staff Properties" called 'Transitioning' and I don't know what it does. I toyed with it and it actually acted like an octaving command but I think it's different than that now. Although I do need to know how to change octaves up or down. But my treble clef on my soprano staff plays the same notes as the bass clef on my tenor staff. Can you help?
Can special endings be visually extended all the way to the Master Repeat Close in order to have a closed ending that closes at the last measure instead of just at the measure where the ending began?
