On a stringed instrument, a note played by stretching a string away from the frame of the instrument and letting it go, making it "snap" against the frame. Also known as a Bartók pizzicato.
When I saw this a few days ago I thought it was interesting to use it.
I think NWC should start doing more of these interesting things or otherwise.
Hi, When I have two notes with their stems facing the opposite direction the staccato that's not attach to the bottom note would not sound like a staccato.
There's an attachment...
The top note (part of a triplet) is suppose to play legato... BUT the bottom note (A Crotchet) which was suppose to play a staccato sounds legato and the staccato mark doesn't attach itself to the bottom note but the top note instead.
My problem is trying to place the staccato's position on the bottom note and not the top so everything would be played the right way I wanted.
Grace notes become wild when there are to many of them.
Here's a solution: Add as much grace notes as possible, then mute them, then "copy and paste" and finally... change the grace notes (you copied and pasted) to normal ones and put their visibilty at "never".
There's an attachment.
Oh... but time signatures must be changed and hidden.
I am writing a song in chinese when the lyrics came out with a bunch of question marks (?). Could it be some kind of bug or lack of language support??? Help...
I was printing a piece with lots of Boxmark fonts in it but the glissando marks are overlapping the notes, tremelo marks are not position that properly, etc. AND I'm a little bit lazy to correct all of them.
The Print Preview is fine but when it comes to printing some off the texts are off their positions.
I am writing a SATB song accompanied with some strings. The problem here is that when there are too many string instruments playing all together the vocal sound eventually disappears! What's going on?
I've heard about a piano that can play some notes lower than it's original lowest notes. What about Oboes? There's the concert oboe in C, then the English Horn, Then the rare bass oboe. Is there such thing as a "Piccolo Oboe"? I've heard it from somewhere.
Trombones too, there's the alto, tenor, bass, contrabass but is there such thing as "Soprano Trombone"?
I just really want to know wether the instruments hilighted red really exist.
P.S. If you find anymore very rare instruments, reply me. (Instrument's transposition required to please).
I've got a problem when I was changing the time signiture from 3/8 to 3/16. The slurs and ties on the viola and cello part are blocking the time signature and it looks bad! I've seen peices where they write the time signature OVER the slur or tie.
And now for the beaming part... I can't beem notes when there's a CLEF between it (I just don't want too many ledger lines). What's the solution??
I know how to make a piano or a harp play a glissando BUT for a trombone on NWC2? A Glissando on a Trombone is smooth and it has a nice legatissimo effect, etc. So is there a solution to this?
Pitched Instruments have their ranges but unpitched purcussion instruments don't go in ranges BUT size which STILL affects the sound. So what are the different sizes of a Bass drum, or a Gong (Tam-tam), Triangle, Cymbal or a Cymbal?
When I use Microsoft Midi Mapper and Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth TOGETHER as a Play Back, They kept on saying this message that "it didn't open properly". And I have no idea why this is happening.
When it comes orchestrating for more than 20 instruments I've got a problem... The sound sometimes get stuck so i always have to press the stop button all the time. But I'm some how pretty curious on how could this happen even with a long time experience with NWC2.
I checked any pedals marks on the staffs but that wasn't the answer.
Something is not right... When I created an orchestrial Template it doesn't seem to work when saving it into the "template" file so i always have to save it on another file. I have no clues or evidence why is this happening.
I so far know all orchestrial instrument ranges, but accordians, harmonicas and chimes? Those three are the ones I am trying to find, EVEN with the power of Google, Yahoo, wikipedia etc. I still can't find its range!
Does anybody have that knowledge of those three instrument's ranges?
Oh... there's an attachment with all the instrument ranges I KNOW.
I know the trick in creating Quadruplets, Quintolets, Sextolets and Septolets BUT when it comes to CHANGING the tempo it is pretty tricky in the case of calculations. I once inserted a tempo of 120 beats per minute and then on the next bar I change the tempo to 160 beats per minute, But It sounded like it's 1.9999 beats off from it's original tempo!
There got to be some kind calculations to getting it precise.
I HAD read another topic and opened the attachment but I still don't really understand it!
When you hear Stravinsky's Firebird "Finale" you hear a French Horn-Intro with beautiful Dynamics and fading notes etc. And in Prokofiev's Symphony No. 5 A roaring Tam-Tam (A Orchestrial Gong) in Action. But Noteworthy doesn't seem to have all the realisctic sound and there's no Embouchure for the woodwinds and the brass. I always wanted embouchure and spirit!
Oh, the purcussions is what I care the most because the Timpani doesn't sound loud enough and it's sound is a bit too high, The Cymbals aren't so realistic, Triangles are too soft, no powerful roaring Tam-tam, etc.
How do you really "mute" a tuba or a trombone besides a trumpet? It doesn't sound great using the muted trumpet sound" as a trombone or a tuba with a mute.
Oh, Brass instruments are not the only instruments with mutes, but strings too (I'm pretty sure you readers know that already). So is it possible to make a string instrument sound "mute" too? (eerie sound)
I write music with many variety of instruments but the number of instruments I use requires more than 16 channels. So I sometimes decided to make 2 or 3 staffs using the same channel and instrument due to similar sounds.
E.g: Set Piccolo with the Flute sound and tranposing it an octave higher OR Set Tuba with Trumpet sound. That's one of my own suggestions but I'm basically eager to have every instrument I demand to have thier own channal and instrument.
I really want some suggestions on how to use MORE than 16 channels!!!
