Hi. I would love to look this up, but I don't know what to call it.
I have some music that explains the "Swing" instruction by picturing a pair of eighth notes' being equal to a quarter and an eighth. There are also other such notations that seem to say things like a quarter note equals a quarter note. What the heck is this notation called, so I can Google it, and (just for kicks) can I enter these (other than with a tempo entry) in NWC?
I tried looking up a few search keyword combinations that included "layering," but got nothing about the following.
I'm trying to layer a soprano line with an alto and a tenor with a bass. After clicking on "Layer with next staff" under the Visual tab in the Properties dialog, the two staffs still show separately. Is there some other condition that has to be met before layering happens? NWC2, by the way.
My apologies if this is out here already and I just don't know how to look it up -
I noticed the sound of a drum coming from what turned out to be the ninth stave on a piece I'm transposing in Noteworthy 1.75b. This despite having set the instrument to "Church Organ" in staff properties. Is this a known bug, a menu default option, or something in my midi setup - anyone got any ideas?
