The Scherzo from Franz Lachner's 8th Symphony that I've been working on,when I try playing it through, goes normally at first observing all the repeats properly until the "da capo" of the scherzo after the trio when it comes to a dead halt at the end of the opening section, despite the "Fine" being placed at the far end of the main Scherzo. I think I have all the repeats and special endings properly sorted out. I just don't know what can have gone wrong now.. Any ideas please? I'd be happy to send the NWC file as an email attachment to anyone who might be able to get it right for me. Sorry to be such a nuisance.
Its quite some time since I last used Boxmarks to print out tremolos in shorthand form and I've completely forgotten how to do it. Could someone please explain the procedure from beginning to end, starting with the downloading of Boxmarks and setting them up inside Noteworthy. Cheers, John.
Over the past 20 years or so I've found Noteworthy one of the most stable of programs but, over the last few weeks, it has developed a tendency to crash. In fact I'm lucky to work a whole hour on it without experiencing such a crash. This has led me to feel the need for doing a save every few bars, particularly if I'm copying out some relatively complex music. I'm wondering if this crashing tendency is caused by interference by some of the other software I have on board my computer. In my present set up Noteworthy version 2.55 runs under Windows 7 Pro and my security software consists of Bit Defender total Security 2014 supplemented by Malware Bytes 2014.
Having, due to various problems with my email set up, been away from it for some considerable time, I have been unable to find the Noteworthy Newsgroup lately. Is it still going or has its place been taken by this forum? If that is so, can we upload samples of our work here for criticism by other members?
On the orchestral piece I am currently copying out into Noteworthy 2.5 the playback has taken on a harsh dissonant tone. I suspect it might be something to do with the transposing instruments. For example, the general key signature being G major with one sharp and the B flat clarinet stave having the 3 sharps A major key signature, I put the transposition as minus 2. Everything seemed to sound all right on playback at first but, coming back to it after a few days rest, I get the dissonant playback as mentioned above. Have I accidentally pressed a wrong button somewhere, causing the transposing instruments to sound as written instead of at concert pitch?
