Have been away from NWC and transcription in general. Been doing mostly Gregorian Chant and it is a SERIOUS pain in the neck.
For me the biggest problem with NWC has always been how it handles slurs. Yes I know that there are a number of messy work arounds, but there should be an easier way to place and edit them. My first time back doing anything with NWC has brought me back face to face with it again.
I figured I would ask to see if there has been any improvement in this area in the ear or so I have been away.
Morning All; I am attempting to write an itree file for the CHAOS8M sound font and am having a small problem. I have used Rick's excellent little script to dump the sf2 file, but am having trouble trying to derive the proper values for the MSB and LSB arguments for the BANK(mmm,nnn) property. Any light that y'all can shed would be greatly appreciated.
To all the regular posters here, thank you very much for all you have taught me, not only about this wonderful product, but about music in general. Since it has become obvious to me that I will never be able to accomplish what I want to be able to with my very limited knowledge of music theory, it is time to stop beating my head against the wall and make room on the hard drive for something that I can move forward with. again, thank you all for your help over the years.
This one has always aggrivated me eer since I started using NWC.Sometimes it appears to count the beats in both the up and down stem directions for measures wiith chords and sometimes it doesn't appear to. When it doesn't we have mismatched measures and possibly out of synch music and or lyris. Was hoping one of our virtuosos could explain the logic to me. A measure of star dust is appended to show what I mean.
Hi Lawrie; Was using your MusikDingsSans group and noticed a possible problem with the Chord Varient. Went to use the flat symbol in parenthasis as a courtsy flat. It appears that the symbol is displaying one position below. I set the cursor at the B position on a treble cleff staff, and the flat symbol displays at the A space. Hope this explanation makes sense. Believe I have an e-mail address in my profile here. Will double check and make sure. Feel free to use it if you need further info.
Just downloaded and tried Lawrie's swingdings fonts from the scripto and they are great. They give the look and feel of handwritten scores or a good fake book. Thank You for all the hard work.
