Hello- I rarely visit but I've attached a file with each instrument using different time signatures. In edit mode (which is what I call it the view where you add/change notes etc...) the music looks fine however in view or print it's a mess and unperformable. I'm wondering if there is a work around? Thanks Jay
I thought that the user tool could somehow give me a text that I could then run through and do global changes to notes what I need.... I use a different notation program to create a slightly better looking score that can do a few things that NWC can't do. This program also produces a midi file when I import the file all the flatted notes are registered as sharps and it's tedious to go through and change them all.
So can I somehow get the user tool to work with me on this or is this not how it can be used.
So far all I've been able to get is text spelling above the notes and changing the text doesn't change the note which even if it did wouldn't save me any time anyway.
Hope I'm in the right place, don't come to the forum too often so if wrong please direct me. Thanks Jay
I've been using NWC since it was on a floppy. So I think/thought I knew how to set the midi up to enter notes. But a new computer and instead of XP pro ended up with win7 And even though NWC sees my midi interfaces midi entry isn't working and I've got 3 options and none are working. Is there anyone who has run into this problem and if so did you find a solution? Thanks Jay
I know how to invisiblize all the notes/rests/barlines in a staff, I have a score where the top vocal line stops well short of the end of the piece and would like to just have it (the staff) stop. But if I stop it there's no more piece after it in printed view or in print. So is there a way to end a staff and still have the printed piece continue? Thanks
In the attached file measure 10 I have a chord that contains c and c# but in performance that would be difficult to discern. What recommendations do you have to make it possible to read this chord and still have it be a chord.
Then in measure 17 there is an errant tie. Which in playback often does not show as it scrolls but printed and file view and often in cntrl>g 17 does show up.
I've tried to see where my fault is but have no more ideas.
I don't understand the forum setup anymore but here's my problem, Score is small at the moment, 7 staves, two are single line percussion staves. Last staff (percussion-cymbal/tinklebell for now) has notes however export to midi = nothing, no sound no material, I have tried to output through a garritan and through a synthfont software and there's no info in the output. The dynamics are up and midi channel is correct (i.e. no conflict) So what should I check next- this is the first time I've had this problem in many years......
I'd attach the piece but can't figure out how to do that with this new interface.
I haven't written in the forum for probably more than a year. But... I did a quick search. And didn't see the problem I'm having. For years I've been using various programs to create midi files, including NWC. Recently I was forced to get a new computer with XP-pro. In regular flavor XP I could take midi files produced by another program and if NWC didn't recognize them I could change the extension to mid and all was well. Now I can't seem to find a way to change the extension and none of my midi files are importable into NWC. I get a MCI error message too. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. Jay
