Usually the reminder is needed for just a note or, at most, some notes in a bar.
In that case I usually put a hidden muted grace note with a different accidental just before the note with the reminder.
Like that:
!NoteWorthyComposerClip(2.5,Single)
|Clef|Type:Treble
|Key|Signature:C|Tonic:C
|TimeSig|Signature:Common
|Note|Dur:4th|Pos:1
|Note|Dur:8th,Grace|Pos:b0|Opts:Muted|Visibility:Never
|Note|Dur:4th|Pos:n0
|Note|Dur:4th|Pos:-1
|Note|Dur:4th|Pos:-2
!NoteWorthyComposerClip-End

Try playing this from bar 2:
!NoteWorthyComposerClip(2.5,Single)
|Clef|Type:Bass
|Key|Signature:C|Tonic:C
|TimeSig|Signature:4/4
|SustainPedal|Pos:-8|Wide:Y
|Note|Dur:4th|Pos:-1
|Note|Dur:4th|Pos:#2
|Note|Dur:4th|Pos:4
|Note|Dur:4th|Pos:6
|SustainPedal|Status:Released|Pos:-8|Wide:Y
|Bar
|Note|Dur:4th,Staccato|Pos:6
|Rest|Dur:4th
|Note|Dur:4th,Staccato|Pos:-1
|Rest|Dur:4th
|Bar
|Note|Dur:4th,Staccato|Pos:3
|Rest|Dur:4th
|Note|Dur:4th,Staccato|Pos:-4
|Rest|Dur:4th
|Bar
|Note|Dur:4th,Staccato|Pos:-1
|Rest|Dur:4th
|Rest|Dur:Half
!NoteWorthyComposerClip-End
