slurs/ties

When a song has more than 1 verse, tied notes may be applicable to one verse and not another. When entering the lyrics, NWC does not take notice of slurs and ties so how can you adjust the lyrics to ignore the slurs/ties in any verse? Is it possible?

Placement of lyrics is affected by slurs and ties - a lyric is assigned to a tied or slurred note set. If you want to skip a note you can enter an underscore instead of a word and it will not appear. If you want two words to share a note (or slurred note set), you can separate them with an underscore (eg. "two_words") and they will appear as two words (eg. "two words").

In the 1.70 Beta there is a new note property that lets you choose if it is to be assigned to a lyric or not. However, this does not really help the multiple lyric problem.

In earlier releases, there is no way to override the syllable attachment behaviour where notes are skipped when they receive a slur or tie.

However, the 1.70 feature does help here. In version 1.70 (currently in beta), you can use the Lyric Syllable property to force a lyric on a note that receives either a tie or a slur. Once this is done, you can skip this syllable in some lyric lines use the underscore (_) character surrounded by spaces.
