Title: Drums and General MIDI
Post by: David on 1998-03-23 05:00 am
Is there any software that exists which allows me to take a general MIDI drum track and convert it to the proper note for going on a bass clef? As in the form that a drummer can read? (if he can :-)
e.g. with bass drum in bottom gap, snare in next gap above, etc...

(this post is different to the one asking how to make the drums sound in NoteWorthy)

David - I have written a short Qbasic program that will do just that.
It converts a written bas clef drum part to a Midi sound part or converts the other way - Midi drums to a written bass clef part.
There is a default for the transfer that can be changed to your needs.
You haven't added an Email address so I cant send it to you.

Hi there, I used Barry's program to convert from General MIDI to notation and it worked perfectly! Looks like it will save me many hours - It would be amazingly good for NoteWorthy if they added this feature.
