converting wma to mp3

Help...I'm new to downloading music etc

Just bought a few songs from napster and need to use them for a slide show (vegas movie studio) but i can't convert them to mp3

any ideas???

The wma format is well protected from copying and converting but there are programs that will do it.


Wave pad does :

There's a free and a professional (pay for it) version.

I am ignorant of the wma format and its use.  (Showing my age, I suppose.)

Regardless, if there is some way that the sound output from the wma player can be sent to an external amplifier or stereo, then it seems that one could use a utility such as "RIP Vinyl", or some such, to capture this sound output and save it as a WAV file, MIDI, MP3, etc.  Then, of course, one could do whatever he wished.

wma is windows media audio - playable with windows media player. If you have any recording software either with a "save as" function - or converts what it hears to mp3, that should do it.

Keep in mind that you won't be able to produce a midi file this way, and therefore can't create something to import into NWC.
