Title: Disappearing Staff Groups
Post by: Brad Powell on 1998-03-16 05:00 am
I have NWC 1.50b. When I create a new score with two staves, each having different group names, both staves appear in the main edit window simultaneously. In previous versions, NWC would show only one group at a time and allow you to change groups under the View menu.

Also, when I open a score created with a previous version, NWC will show only the staves within one group (i.e. "Strings") but I cannot switch to another group (i.e. "Brass") to edit it. It seems as if the other groups have been "lost."

Anyone have any insight?

Select Page Setup on the File menu, then goto the Contents tab.

The reason they do not appear is because of a setting
difference between the two versions. I found a way to get
around this. Go to Score Review in the Tools menu. Then
click the staff that has "disappered" Then click on "Goto
Staff Properties..." This will bring up the properties of
the staff, and the staff will have appeared in the Score
editor window.

I wrote a 200 measure piano sonata using NWC, saving it many times. When I opened the file today, however, only one staff appeared, with nothing on it.

If anyone has any insights on how I could retrive my piece, your assistence would be most appreciated.
