Drumref Sounds

I'm trying to create a ride cymbal sound via drumref that duplicates a real drummer using his fuzzy (?) cymbal mallets to crescendo throughout the entire measure. I tried using 64th notes with the sustain pedal and it just sounded like a cricket orgy. Any suggestions?

I seriously doubt you'll get what you want from any GM sound set. I think you'll need to get hold of a specific "drum kit"... using sound fonts or VSTi's
