Title: NWC to PDF
Post by: Metroid9824 on 2006-12-05 01:36 am
How do I change a NWC song into a PDF document. Because I am making a song for a friend, but he doesn't have NoteWorthy, and if he downloaded it, and tried to print it, it would say Author: UNREGISTERED COPY OF NWC  Title: UNREGISTERED COPY OF NWC!!!!!!- Right? I don't think I want him to go through the trouble of printing it, just to find useless text everywhere. And I can't print it for him, because I have a bad printer.

So what the outline of my question is: Is there anyway I can let my friend print a clean piece of music without going through much trouble? I don't mind if I go through trouble.

I use a little free program, cutePDF, for this purpose. ( http://www.cutepdf.com/ )

cutePDF will create a PDF file of anything that you can print on your regular printer such as photos, text, etc.  In my experience it is tree stump simple to use and completely trouble free.

Install the program and simply print to the cutePDF instead of your regular printer.  (When you install the program this new choice becomes available in your print dialog box.) This creates the PDF file instead of actually printing and gives you a choice of where to store the file.

Here is a link where you can find (and see how I used) some PDF's of NWC files that I created with cutePDF:

If your friend has a Windows computer, then the NWC Viewer is another option, since it supports printing:

... NWC Viewer is another option, since it supports printing:
One caveat. Don't modify any colors in Tools->Options...->Color
These changes are not stored with the song. The viewer will print using the default colors.
