About "Sound Recorder"

Alright, does Sound Recorder on Windows XP record electric pianos that are hooked up?  It dosn't work for me.

Im trying desperately to get my electric piano sounds to WAV files.

Not directly, no, because your keyboard sends MIDI commands, not actual sounds. What you need is a tool (or two different tools) to save the MIDI instructions, and to interpret those instructions as actual sounds and play them. Most sequencers will do what you want.
The alternative approach, of course, is to attach the speaker / headphone socket of your keyboard to the microphone socket of the PC.

I don't mean to be critical, Robin, but it's better to use the 'Line in' socket of the soundcard, rather than the Mic input.

The Mic input is much more sensitive, and it is possible to overload it.

Here speaks someone who 'blew' a soundcard - Ha Ha

Yes, sorry, I just meant one of the input sockets - it's not something I've ever done myself anyway.

You could try (in a roundabout way) getting your soundcard to respond to your MIDI-in data. Then use LPRecorder to record. Worked for me!!
