Title: MIDI file imports to NWC
Post by: Don Ruckman on 1998-03-26 05:00 am
I just transfered 35 files from my old music program to NWC with very good results. The only exception I found was in transfering Triplets. I played the .MID file(with Triplets) and it plays OK. When IMPORTED to NWC it transcribes as
1/16 1/8 1/16 all bared together. Any one else with this experence?
How come?

MIDI import in NWC does not support (recognize) triplets. This is just how it works at the moment.

Don,
I created a macro file (using Win 3.1's Recorder.exe, which ain't available on NT or 95 - or 98) which "tripletises" groups of notes with the right behaviour.
Either grab it from http://www.pcug.org.au/~apurdam/
(navigating down "music" and "composing") or go straight to http://www.pcug.org.au/~apurdam/noteworthy.html

OR

if it's not too big (and you don't trust the contents of the macro file), send me the midi file and I'll convert it for you.

NWC Support: Thanks for the heads up.
Andrew: Thanks for the offer, I am on Win 95. The edit of files with triplets will not be a big effort, thanks to the workings of NWC; and they are easy to spot.
Thanks again.
