Title: NWC really needs measure compression
Post by: user111 on 2005-02-13 02:00 pm
NWC cannot have the exact formatting of many music sheets because it doesn't support measure compression.

This is true, and sometimes the measures run off the page in some of the piano scores containing a cadenza here and there(like Lizts' Campanella). It would be helpful if this change were to be made.

That's odd... when I enter the same notes, it ends up narrower. In between, sort of thing. What could be happening?

Sorry, that image wasn't very good for comparison. Here's the new link: [http://img208.exs.cx/img208/8854/nwc2comparison0md.gif]

Yeah, I see what you mean.
Whilst layout has improved with NWC2, I still think it needs major tweaking so that we can "kern" notes if we want to, or even just apply a global "spacing compression" to the whole score. There is a lot I'd like to do with layout capability.
