User Tools / Re: NWCCONVERTOR
Last post by hmmueller -
Your very (very? extremely:-* ) helpful program converted 2 Mendelssohn files successfully - but not 3 others I tried -> they are in the attached ZIP.
Could you take a look into what happens here - not at all urgent  O:)  (I have the other 2), but maybe somewhen?
The files are from https://www.cpdl.org; the MS4 one I ran through MuseScore4, which sometimes creates a better MXL - but not here, it seems.

Thanks!
Harald

Hello Opagust,
I wanted to update you that I have finally been able to access the nwcconvertor program using the access credentials you shared on page 1 of this thread. Thank you very much for providing those details.
I am now able to test and compare the program with the direct MIDI export that I currently use.
Thank you very much for your work and for the time you have dedicated to developing this tool for the community. Your generosity in sharing access is greatly appreciated.
Many thanks again.
Kind regards.

Thank you very much. I was about to send an attachment to explain my question graphically. I'll attach it anyway and then I'll get to your process.

PS: This collaboration between grandparents is wonderful  :)

After some trial, error and finally result: see the attachment.

How i succeeded:

1. Added a bar at the end of each staff with a rest in the first one. This created a second page, but with three visible staves and the text columns from the first page repeated.

2.Copied the PageTxt object to the second staff with Visibility = 'Never'. This removed the text columns from the second page.

3. Added 'Start Collapsible Section' objects in the last bar of the staves, to make them disappear. But apparently Nwc does always print one at least. So:

4. Added an empty staff with open ending bar and zero staff lines.

5. Unchecked all 'System Conections in Next Staff' checkboxes in the bass staff.

6. Unchecked page numbering in Page Setup.

Thanks, Grandpa Agust,
the graphic result is perfect! I need to study your passages carefully and "metabolize" them.
The second question, posed in other words: at the end of a page (at the bottom of the page) is the last line of the score ("section close bar"). Can I add a subsequent page that's completely blank, that is, without any lines?

Good morning Lawroc,

How about the attachment below, is that what you expect?
I created a second PageTxt with another X offset and filled it with the text from the Xtext object, which I removed (it was hard to find).
Then, in order to get two columns with equal length, I moved some lines from the end of the first to the start of the second, replaced '|' and inserted some extra'%br%' in the second column.

(No idea regarding your second question)

Have a nice day,
Gust

General Discussion / Page.txt in two pieces
Last post by lawrroc -
Good morning,
this is the problem I'm proposing.
Is it possible to split text inserted with Page.Txt into two parts after the last line? "Split" means one part on the left and one on the right. In the attached example, the second part of the text, the one on the right, was created with Xtext.hmm. The two parts were paired as precisely as possible after many attempts.
My transcriptions always include text, and I transfer it to the nwc file. When the text is very long, as in the example, I have great difficulty inserting it so it's displayed.
At this point, another subsequent question: Is it possible to create a blank page (without a staff) after the last line?
Thanks.
Lorenzo
